Official product questions & technical answers

I noticed the solar input power of Mega 2 pro is 1,000W, down from 2,100W on the old Mega 2. Could you explain why that change was made?
Sure thing! The main reason we adjusted the power is that we’re moving away from those theoretical parameters that look good on paper but are hard to actually achieve. Instead, we want to give you a power level that’s reliable and consistent in real use. Let me break it down for you:. 1. The Mega 2: That 2,100W is technically the maximum theoretical solar input, but you’ll rarely hit that in real life. Its solar input specs are DC: 12-148V, 15A Max, 2100W Max. If you use our 240W solar panels (specs: OCV 24.6V, Vmp 20.5V, Imp 11.7A), you can connect up to 5 in series. That gives you a theoretical input of 1200W, and after accounting for line transmission and energy conversion losses, the actual input is around 1,000W. 2. The Mega 2 pro: While 1,000W seems lower, it’s the actual power you can consistently get. Its solar input specs are DC: 12-80V, 30A Max, 1,000W Max. Thanks to the larger input current, you can connect the solar panels in a 3-series and 2-parallel setup. That gives a theoretical maximum input of 1440W, and after losses, the actual power stays steady around 1,000W. Also, from what we found in market research, 1,000W is the sweet spot for 2kWh-class energy storage power supplies. It lets you fully charge in about 2 hours, keeps the equipment running stably, and even extends its service life. . For higher solar input, you can add a B2 Extra Battery to unlock an independent 2,100W solar input.
Can I leave the Mega 2 Pro connected to the solar panels overnight?
Yes, it is safe to leave the Mega 2 Pro connected to your solar panels overnight. We've optimized the Mega 2 Pro's internal circuit design to enable 24/7 automatic charging management, so the MPPT controller will stop charging when there's no sunlight and automatically resume when the sun returns. This will not cause any damage to the unit or your panels.
Does the Mega 2 Pro support pass-through charging?
Yes. The Mega 2 Pro supports pass-through charging. However, in bypass mode, AC charging input plus all outputs should not exceed 2400W.
Can I connect the Mega 2 Pro to a G5 Extra Battery?
No. The Mega 2 Pro is part of Mega Series and is exclusively compatible with B2 Extra Batteries (2,048Wh per unit).
I just received my unit—what are the first steps?
To ensure peak performance and a seamless experience, we recommend the following:. Read the Manual: Familiarize yourself with the safety guidelines and features. - Watch & Learn: Visit our official YouTube channel for video tutorials. Join the Community: Connect with fellow owners and swap tips in our Facebook User Group. Condition the Battery: For the best long-term health, please complete one full charge and discharge cycle before your first regular use.
Can I Use Third-Party Solar Panels?
Yes, third-party panels are compatible. Ensure the Open Circuit Voltage is 80V , current is 30A , and the total wattage matches the unit's MPPT specifications for safe operation.
