Reviews that prove ownership—and respect time.
Star ratings alone cannot explain whether a generator starts after storage, survives repeated outages, or earns its keep after the warranty period. Our owner reports collect those outcomes and label the limits of the evidence.
Verification workflow
A badge is earned, never self-assigned.
A submission is private and pending by default. It does not appear on a product page until both ownership and the report itself have been reviewed.
1 · Owner submits
The report names the exact model, time in service, seller, ratings, maintenance, and any repair or replacement issue.
2 · Ownership is checked
We privately review purchase, registration, or model-and-serial evidence. Full order and serial numbers are not requested in the public form.
3 · Content is screened
Reports must describe first-hand use. Spam, copied content, incentives, affiliate pitches, and unverifiable claims are rejected.
4 · Verified report publishes
Only a report that passes both ownership verification and editorial moderation receives the verified-owner label.
What we measure
Reliability is more than one star rating.
Each report keeps the ownership timeline and failure record next to the opinion, so buyers can distinguish a pleasant first month from years of dependable service.
Starting behavior
Ease of starting, including performance after storage and in repeated use.
Time in service
Months owned, purchase year, and whether the report qualifies as long-term.
Failures and timing
Whether repair or replacement was needed, when it happened, and the affected system.
Maintenance burden
Routine service, storage practices, battery care, and other ownership work.
Manufacturer support
An optional rating for owners who actually contacted support or used warranty service.
Recommendation
A direct yes-or-no answer shown alongside—not substituted for—the detailed record.
How long-term figures work
Long-term rates use only reports from owners with at least 12 months of service. Those figures remain hidden until five long-term reports exist for the exact model. New-owner reports can still publish individually after verification, but they do not inflate the long-term result.
What the figures cannot prove
Verified ownership does not make a report a controlled test. Usage, climate, fuel quality, loads, storage, and maintenance all differ. Published rates describe this site’s verified sample—not every unit sold—and should be read with the sample size and the individual reports.
