This protocol defines how Find My Generator plans, records, and publishes independent measurements. Until a real unit completes the required work, its product page remains source-backed analysis—not a hands-on review.

Core measurement suite
Fuel generators, portable power stations, and expansion batteries do different work. Their procedures differ, but every result must be traceable to a controlled condition and an identified instrument.
Sustained watts, voltage, frequency, starting response, recovery, and protection behavior under disclosed loads.
Elapsed time and delivered energy tied to a measured fuel quantity, battery state, load, mode, and environment.
A-weighted readings at stated distances, directions, loads, surfaces, wind, and background sound levels.
Delivered watt-hours, cutoff state, wall input energy, charge time, charge mode, and ambient conditions.

Fuel-generator protocol
A correctly rated load bank steps through 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of published running output while instruments log watts, voltage, frequency, recovery, faults, and shutdowns.
Runtime results use a measured fuel quantity and delivered watt-hours. Sound is mapped at 7 m / 23 ft on four sides with the load, mode, wind, surface, and ambient level reported.
Cold and heat-soaked starts follow the manual exactly. Attempts, time, temperature, battery state, and any intervention are recorded rather than summarized from memory.
Power-station protocol
AC discharge tests measure watt-hours delivered to a stated load through normal automatic cutoff. Output steps record regulation, fan behavior, temperature, protection events, and shutdown.
Recharge starts from the documented cutoff state and reports wall input energy, peak input, elapsed time, charge mode, and ambient temperature—not just the screen’s percentage estimate.
Transfer behavior is measured only when that capability is advertised. Expansion batteries are tested with an exact, approved base station, cable or dock, and firmware combination.
Controlled conditions
A result without a unit, instrument, load, environment, and method is not comparable. The worksheet keeps those fields beside the measurement they qualify.

Tested-badge gate
A protocol-ready page is not a tested page. A product earns the label only after the full record is complete enough for a reader to understand what happened and what the result cannot prove.
An exact production model was physically evaluated.
The date, location, weather, surface, and operating conditions are disclosed.
Loads, fuel or charge state, operating mode, and instruments are identified.
Original results and observations are retained, including failed or excluded runs.
Safety limits, sample size, conflicts, and test limitations are stated.
The published result separates measured values from manufacturer claims.
Commerce cannot buy a tested badge, change a measurement, remove a valid failure, or determine the verdict. Sample source and manufacturer involvement are disclosed with the result.
Safety before data
Fuel-burning generators must run outdoors, far from structures, openings, and ignition hazards. Qualified personnel must use rated loads and follow the manufacturer’s grounding, bonding, clearance, fuel, battery, and protective-device instructions. Never bypass a safety control or backfeed building wiring. Stop for unstable power, abnormal heat, leakage, damage, smoke, odor, or any fault. Carbon monoxide and emissions claims require suitable professional instruments and procedures beyond a basic product test.
